One of the questions we were asked is: Why The Orange Lantern? Vietnamese Silk Lanterns are not only unique in design but has a history dating back to more than five centuries. It is totally handmade from 100% silk fabric stretched over a bamboo frame with a tassel below. It is shaped after Vietnamese fish traps and traditionally is meant to bring good fortune.It is therefore one of the distinguishing features of something Vietnamese. Secondly, the color Orange in Asia signifies Prosperity, Longevity.The colour Orange comes across as very bright, warm and cheerful. We at the Orange Lantern Restaurant hope to be your guiding light in the darkness and to bring good fortune, cheerfulness and warmth to all our customers through our food and service.

A Short History:

The Orange Lantern was born in March 2005, but it was known to many as the Pho Temptation for the previous 2 years. A 5 minutes stroll away from Somerset MRT, one cannot miss the bright orange signboard standing out among the row of shophouses as you walk towards Killiney Road. The contemporary design, sleek lines of the teak wall mounted benches and overheads and the long wall mirrors gives the restaurant a very modern look and this is balanced by the warm wall colours giving it a very chic yet cozy ambience.

Due to the popular demand for the wide range of dishes served at The Orange Lantern, a second outlet was established at the buzzling shopping mall at HarbourFront Centre, which is right at the doorstep of Harbourfront MRT Station. Harbour Outlet features an eye-catching muti-coloured strips wall design which gives the restaurant a modern look which stands out from the row of retail shops within the shopping mall.

The modern yet cosy ambience of both restaurants contribute to The Orange Lantern being the ideal environment for couples to mingle and talk, family gatherings and even business discussions over a meal.
